Terms of Service
Last updated: [LAUNCH DATE]. These terms govern your use of the Simple Moves website and, together with your signed coordination agreement and written quote, our move coordination services.
1. What Simple Moves is
Simple Moves is a move coordination service. We plan, schedule, and coordinate residential moves. Simple Moves is not a moving company, motor carrier, or transportation broker, and we do not transport, load, or handle household goods.
2. How moves are contracted and paid
The physical work of your move — moving, packing, cleaning, junk removal, setup, and similar services — is performed by independent local service providers. You contract with, and pay, each provider directly for its work, under that provider's own terms. Simple Moves' only charge is our flat coordination fee, quoted in writing before you book. Simple Moves does not charge a percentage of your move, does not mark up provider prices, and does not collect deposits or payments on a provider's behalf.
3. Quotes
Quotes are free. Your written quote itemizes our coordination fee and each provider service separately. Provider prices in a quote are the provider's prices as quoted to us for your move; your contract with each provider governs the final amount you owe that provider (for example, if the scope of work changes on move day). If any line in your quote changes, we will tell you before the affected work proceeds wherever reasonably possible.
4. Independent contractors; no guarantee of provider work
Providers are independent contractors, not employees or agents of Simple Moves. Simple Moves checks providers against our vetting standards (such as verifying operating authority and insurance), but Simple Moves does not guarantee or warrant any provider's work. Claims for loss, damage, delay, or other issues with a provider's work must be made against that provider under your contract with them. We will reasonably help you document such an issue and identify the right claim process.
5. Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate information about the homes, dates, access, and items involved in your move.
- Review your written quote and coordination agreement before booking.
- Contract with and pay providers directly, on the terms you agree with them.
- Tell us promptly about changes to dates, addresses, or scope.
6. Cancellations and changes
Cancellation and rescheduling terms for Simple Moves' coordination fee are stated in your coordination agreement. Cancellation terms for provider services are governed by your contracts with those providers.
7. Service area
At launch, Simple Moves coordinates moves where both the origin and destination are located in Missouri. We may decline or refer out any move we cannot coordinate, including moves that cross state lines.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Simple Moves' liability arising from our coordination services is limited to the coordination fee you paid us for the move in question. Simple Moves is not liable for any provider's acts, omissions, work, or charges, or for indirect or consequential damages.
9. Website use
Content on this website is provided for general information. Package prices shown are Simple Moves' coordination fees; all other amounts are itemized in individual written quotes. We may update this site and these terms at any time; the version posted at the time of your booking applies to your move.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri.
